1997 Jaguar XK8 convertible. Beautiful gold sand exterior over champagne leather interior. Only 122,835 miles and same owner since 2000. Fully loaded- chrome wheels, Harmon Kardon sound system with 6 disc CD player in trunk, full power, and more. Overall good body, great interior, nice top and headliner. Runs and drives well, and clean history- no accidents. Drives straight, steers straight, stops straight. Cold AC. Just passed the tough California state emission test with no trouble (see attached report). Has a clean clear California title and is on non-op status (so no back registration fees or penalties if you are a California buyer). The car comes with 2 original Jaguar keys, 2 original remotes, and the full owner's manual set. Selling as a nice running, driving, fixer upper project for someone to tinker with. Drive it home.

Great car to enjoy now- fix up and drive it. Or if you prefer, this is a good candidate for Chevy LS1 LS2 or LS3 conversion using a kit from Jaguar Specialties (do a Google search for their website to see the kit and possibilities....)
Body is nice overall and paint mostly good and fair in a few areas- the worst spot is on left rear quarter panel around gas filler.. There is a small scraped area down low behind right rear wheel, a small dent in the top rear edge of trunk lid, and some paint is missing on one small area of the very front of front bumper. Tires all have 80+% tread, and good chrome on the wheels with only one wheel showing minor peeling.  Top is nice with no holes or wear and very good headliner. Leather seats are all very good with only minor wear; beautiful dash with no cracks in the top and nice wood. Door panels and other interior panels also nice.
All power systems work- power tilt and telescope steering wheel, power mirrors, windows, seats, and locks, top goes up and down, wipers and lights, sound system including CD changer, etc.,.
AC gets pretty cold- 40 degrees at the vents. The mast on the electric antenna is broken (does not go up and down) but a new mast is in the trunk (a simple DIY project for the new owner).
The car starts right up, drives well, shifts properly, drives straight, steers straight and stops straight. The engine itself seems strong and pulls well. It is not the quietest Jag V8 I have ever heard but the mechanic at the shop that did the emissions test didn’t seem concerned about it – he didn’t recommend doing anything about it
The car has had much major work in the last 20,000 miles:
New front wheel bearings
New starter
New engine mounts
New water pump
New thermostat
New coolant reservoir
New serpentine belt
New high pressure power steering hose
New rear brake rotors
New rear brake pads
Convertible top boot- if the final price of the car is over 00 , the convertible top boot (the cover that goes over the top when it is down, as shown in the picture) will be included. If the selling price is 00 or lower, the top boot will not be included

California Buyers - Important
- the car passed the standard California state emissions (smog) test on 8-6-21 with no issues. It is ready to register to a California buyer.
The car is located in Los Gatos, California, 50 miles south of San Francisco. A 0 non-refundable deposit is due through Ebay within 24 hours of the end of the listing. The balance is due within 1 week of the end of the listing in cash (if picking up in person) or by cashier’s check by mail.
The car must be picked up by you, or your shipping company, within 2 weeks of the end of the listing. We are jammed for space and need the car gone. If the car is not picked up by the end of that 2 week period, a storage charge of per day will due until it is actually gone
If the deposit is not received within 24 hrs, the sale will be canceled and the car relisted
If final payment is not received within 1 week after the deposit is received, the deposit will be lost and the car relisted for sale.
