    Description

Offered for sale is this beautifully carved totem pole by the important Northwest Coast carver Siwis (George Nelson).  George Nelson was a highly influential carver who was active in the early 1900's and carved in his village of Quatsino, BC.  One of his most well known carvings is the impressive cedar house post in the University of British Columbia's Museum of Anthropology's Main Hall (last picture).
This elegantly carved and vibrantly painted three figure pole featuring an eagle and a bear eating a salmon measures 8.5" tall by 6.5" wide and is great example of his style.  This is a great opportunity to add the beautiful pole from a very important carver.
Please see photos for a better understanding of the condition and reach out to me with any questions.
I will be listing additional Haida, Tlingit, Tsimshian, Salish, Nuu-chah-nulth and Kwakiutl items in the coming weeks.
