For sale are a pair of 2010 Olympic street banners designed by renowned Northwest Coast Haida artist Robert Davidson.
Robert Davidson (1946-) is one of Canada`s most important native artists and is very influential in contemporary Northwest Coast art.
Robert was raised and learned from elders traditional Haida ways. In the late 1960`s, Davidson apprenticed with Bill Reid & studied at the Vancouver school of art. In 1969 he carved and raised a 40 foot totem pole in Old Massett which was the first to be raised in the village since 1871.
These street banners were designed for the municipality of Surrey, BC. as part of their ongoing public art displays of beautiful art banners

These banners utilized Robert`s abstract forms and bold colors.
The material of the banners is nylon.
There are 2 rivets on each piece or a rod can be used to hang them up.
The measurements are: Length: 72 inches on the long side and 54” on the shorter side X 26 inches wide.
They are in good used condition, no chips, tears, some folds in the nylon.
